The purpose of the Society is to represent the interests of and be a primary spokesman for the surveying profession in Missouri; to elevate the standards of the surveying profession in Missouri, thereby benefiting the general public; to insure that the general public and offices of records receive superior land surveying that brings about an upgrading of land records; to sponsor legislation and educational programs beneficial to the public and Surveyors; and to improve the professional recognition of the surveying profession by the public and by other related professions.
A membership directory is published annually by MSPS. Your listing in the directory identifies your interest in the continuance of superior land surveying.
MSPS holds their annual meeting in the fall of each year, as well as oneday workshops. Cosponsors the Surveyors Refresher Course at University of MissouriRolla, and an annual educational workshop is presented in the spring.
Committee meetings occur throughout the year; committees are as follows: Annual Meeting, Awards, County Surveyors, Education, Handbook, History, Highway Department Liaison, Legislative, Membership, Nominating, Political Action, Public Relations, Scholarship, Standards, Surveyor's Week and Vision 21.
